With governments around the world starting to ease restrictions placed due to the coronavirus pandemic, the auto industry is slowly resuming operations. Ferrari restarted production at its Maranello and Modena factories on May 8. And now, the carmaker has reopened its museums, the Museo Ferrari in Maranello and the Museo Enzo Ferrari in Modena to the public.
While that’s a positive sign, there will be certain protocols in place to ensure the safety of the staff and visitors. The measures from Ferrari’s ‘Back On Track’ programme include all visitors being scanned by a thermal scanner at entrances. Masks will be provided free of cost and are compulsory for all except for children under the age of six. Also, a limited number of visitors will be allowed at a time, so it would be advisable to book tickets for your ideal time slot on the museum websites. Frontline COVID-19 medical staff will be given free access to both museums for the rest of 2020 along with discounts for their family members.
While these measures are all well and good, there’s still a long way to go before attendance numbers go back to normal. If it isn’t possible for you to travel, you can take a virtual look inside the two museums via Street View on Google Maps.
